People Of The World
Assembly program for grades K-12
Our dances zoom in on the people and cultures from around the world and to those who share a common heritage, language and homeland with or without political status. Learn how dance plays many roles in our lives, whether for social gathering, political support or spiritual ritual. Take a profound journey to see the exotic people in places such as: the Han of China, the Kurds of Iran, Turkey, Syria and Iraq, the Argentinians of Buenos Aires and the Israelis. Workshops are accessible and related to the classroom, giving students the opportunity to study, learn and perform some of many multicultural dances of our world.
* Upon request the show can also focus on subjects such as the Silk Road, social dance (ballroom etc.), ethnic dance (bachata etc.) and the Middle East.
